Well, that's it, my wife has left me. OK, not for good (we're hoping), actually, she's gone to UK to get her immigration papers, yay! Canada, in its wisdom, has decided that charlotte is made of fiber worthy of our land, and she may live and work here. So, she's off to London town having a great time, while i shovel snow. :) Actually it's warming up. She'll be back in a few weeks but she's having a great time over the by with old friends. Me, I've got ANOTHER job. More to come on that later.

Every once in a while you gotta just say... crap, what's happening to the world? Tsunamis, helicopter crashes, train crashes, genocide in Sudan, mudslides in vancouver, landslides in California, climate warning in effect--- do we need to bring back some humpback wales from the past to correct this situation, or something???

If we need a metaphor for what lies ahead, this picture may well be it. An obvious, hit you on the head metaphor, but it will do! We have meant to be enjoying a wee break before work but a few things have come up which made it less of an enjoying time as we have some big decisions to weigh up.

A solid $15 investment! last summer i went to the wonderful Simon & Garfunkel concert in hyde park in london with awsome friends Selina and Danny. It was one of those perfect english summer days. Well, while killing time in future shop tonight, i found the double DVD set of the performance- sadly the central park concert is in it but NOT the hyde park one. Rubbish. but still worth it to hear paul sing "the only living boy in new york" and to see that tromberedoo (half trombone, half digeredoo) in "feelin' grovy". in fact there's almost 30 songs on this in beautiful 5.1 surround sound.

Charlotte, bless her, is good to me. When she saw my eyes lite up over the ZBoard "the gamer's keyboard ", she said "When you get a job, the Zboard can be yours." Well.... now the phrase comes back to haunt her. What is a ZBoard, you ask, well there it is, in all it's glory. A USB keyboard, it's got a usb hub right on the keyboard, so i got my mouse and camera hooked into it too, but the best part is the interchangeable keysets- you get two sets, one for normal pc usage, and one for gaming (shown above) ... the gaming one has got all your important keys like RELOAD, DUCK, JUMP, NIGHT VISION- hey, you never know. The standard keyboard is sexy too, with volume controls, browsing buttons, a key for MY COMPUTER and CALCULATOR and stuff like that. You cannae wack it!! Back to games for me!
I must say, it takes some getting used to. I've been playing with a QWERTY for so long, i'm really awful at gaming with this thing. As yoda said "You must UNLEARN what you have LEARNED."

Behold, Trans+Plus website. Not a particularly exciting website. But, to me, a good one. FOR this is the company that saw fit, at 2pm on Thursday, to offer me employment. The salary is quite a bit lower than I was hoping for, but, seeing as how the opportunity is very good, the education and experience will be golden, and I don't have to stop looking, I have decided to accept. And so ends the unemployment diary!!! What shall we talk about now? Oh i'm sure i'll think of something!!!

Day 3 of waiting for response from what seemed like a very positive interview. Oh dear. 3 days. That's a long time. Hope is starting to fade! I am slowly getting back into a job-seeker mindset again- I know i never should have left it, but hey, when you feel positive, you feel positive. OK, back to it. Again, you'll know when I know!

Cautiously Optomistic is the word of the day. Had an interview yesterday. Was much much better then the last interview i was at, whereupon I got hammered. But the company i saw yesterday was in Guelph, a mere 40 minute drive away, and everything SEEMED to go well. Having said that, in the past when things SEEMED TO GO WELL i seemed not to get the job. So i'm cautiously optomistic. I'll probably find out monday or tuesday. Hey, if it's meant to happen, it will- every time i got turned down for a job in the past, a more suitable one was around the corner. -K

The british have been sending us so much faulty equipment lately, i figured we should stick THEM in it, see how safe THEY feel!! Sorry I've not posted much lately! Charlotte's family have been over from UK the last couple weeks, so I've been playing the tourist. Here's Tom in a retired jet at the Aircraft Museum in Hamilton.

Well, the new year is here- the snow is intermittant, but that's ok- the ice hockey was canceled and the street hockey commenced. I introduced my british brother in law properly to street hockey and he did very well!! Here we are playing outside Jonathan and Nicole's new house- I wonder how that went over with the new neighbors!
