Back in beautiful Canada.... taking a detour from the california road trip, putting on some winter coats, and enjoying the fall colours with our friend Selina--- who may well kill me when she finds out we posted her picture on the internet. This was a nice way to distract me from the merciless job-hunting i was doing yesterday which is still to yeild a single phone call or email of interest. Hmmm, maybe i'm not as "all-that" as i previously had thought! This excersize keeps me humble. That and living with my parents again!

Come on baby-- light my fire. Charlotte has the dinner on (the ever reliable wieners on a stick) and that's a hearty meal at the mountain log cabin we stayed at that night. That was in the rockies, between Denver and Las Vegas. UNEMPLOYMENT UPDATE: I posted my resume on Monster.com, Workopolis.com and applied to like 10 jobs at CNC. They've now had them for 3 business hours and haven't knocked my door down yet. I can't understand it. Maybe I put the wrong address on it? -Kev

This is an amusing warning to those passing the island of Alkatraz. Today I finish my resume, hopefully, and get it ready to start sending to companies by the end of the day. On terms of how bad working on a resume is for me, I'd put it just below going to the dentist. To have a filling. And how the lovely internet tempts me away with all it's promise of fun!! Luckily my PC is a little broken so I can't really play any games on it till i get a new Motherboard, and I can't really afford a new motherboard until I am gainfully employed!! Someone! MSN me!! Beware though-- if you help me escape this boredom, you are subject to prosecution and imprisonent.

Behold, the most giant organic structure known to man. I'm talking, of course, about my chin. :) No, these are redwoods I tell you, and bloomin enormous. The one I am looking at here-- taller than the statue of liberty. We would catch the sweet rain drops from the top of the tree, that seemed to take an age to fall. Today is the first REAL day I am trying to get a job. I am actually slowly but surely changing my resume, checking out Monster.com and Workopolis.com --- but I'm pretty much going to have to do this resume first so I better get stuck in. Wish me luck. It's a horrible job.

I know you are somewhere cold, I know you are somewhere rainy, somewhere grey. But for a moment close your eyes and feel the sand between your toes, hear the surf, smell the salty air, and get more depressed cos it's only October and it's going to be a long honkin winter. I took this picture of Charlotte a couple weeks ago-- feels kinda like a couple years ago!! This is Pismo Beach, California.

Yes, just when you think life doesn't get any better, you discover the world's largest thermometer in Baker, California, at the edge of the Mojave desert and Death Valley. The thing is, it was busted. The fact that it didn't work didn't make me want a refund or anything tho. Take what life lessons you will from that ;)
Unemployment Diary - Day 1
As i am now sort of back from holiday the general expectation is that I now find suitable employment and get back into the grind.
I must say however that unemployed life is very seductive. A few days of sleeping late, playing on the internet, and watching rubbish daytime TV has led me to believe that this is perhaps the greatest weekdays I will be spending for years to come.
Of course there are down sides- we find ourselves living in my parent's home once again and all the wierdness that that brings-- but hey for now we don't feel trapped by it, it's kinda fun. I expect this to last at least 2 and a half more days.
OK my friends out there working for a living, don't strain yourselves. Save me a seat, but not too soon.

Welcome eh?
Hey!!!
This feels a bit silly but could be cool as well. You can check out what's what in the world of the Archies (that's me Kev and the lovely Charlotto) and here all the biz and the nudge here on the webbie. How cool is that? I hope this thing works out ok.
We just got back from a wild trip across america to the California. There was much crazyness, all will be revealed. Anyhow, just testing this out really. Expect more, and soon.
Yours,
Kev
