10 Years to save the world - and a Government Cover up??

My wife and i have this little routine when it comes to auto maintenance and a few other things.

I tend to adopt the attitude of "it's not as bad as it seems" until whatever problem is currently happening grows to becoming very expensive.

So the way my wife tells me these things has evolved to "it's much worse than it seems" to try to get my attention - and rightly so.

Only problem is, i know this. so - i might take such a claim even less seriously. Of course, she counters this by turning up the problem, till the wheels are flying off the car!

I say this parable because i tend to think it's something like the environmental scientists and the rest of the world.

We have the attitude of "it's not as bad as it seems". But going on our current course will cost us bg time down the road.

This forces the environmental scientists into a bit of overstatement - so we get articles like today's. "We have 10 years to save the world." Not only that, but "The government knows this, but is covering it up".

And to be honest, i hope it works. I just wonder if it will only make us more deaf 10 years down the road when the world is still out there.

Hey, I've got the reverse issue with my wife. Suz thinks everything's fine, even when the car is making horrible noises and things are falling off. I like to get things fixed, but she likes to wait until they break off. There's half the labour cost gone. Now you just have to pay for the installation of the new part!

p.s. I hope the world doesn't end in 10 years. That would suck.
